ABOUT ME

Juan Cruz Martínez

I am very focused on the study and application of psychology in relation to human behavioural problems. I am a keen advocate of preventative approaches, in order to deal with initial problems before they escalate and grow bigger.

I am a graduate of the University of Salamanca.

I have done specialist training in Transactional Analysis for clinical membership of AESPAT(303).

Transactional Analysis is the study of psychological personality structures and systematic psychotherapy to achieve personal growth and change.

My work to date has centred primarily on adolescents; an area related closely to primary prevention. Here, developing problems can be open to effective intervention, before their escalation in later adult life. As part of this, I have carried out academic research, specifically into adolescent anxiety problems in a number of schools. At the same time, I have also worked in the areas of the general adult population and of the elderly. My practice is therefore able to count on specialist experience in a variety of psychological fields.

Currently I also work as a health psychologist in the volunteer program of the NGO Doctors of the World.
